CORINTH — A pharmacist was arrested this week for allegedly falsifying documents to steal prescription painkillers from the Rite Aid pharmacy where she worked, police said.

Mary B. Murphy, 48 of Ballston Spa, was charged Monday after an investigation by the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office, the agency said in a news release.

Police said she falsified a prescription and business records to get hydrocodone for herself last month, using the name of a Rite Aid customer and a local doctor, police said.

Murphy was charged with felony counts of forgery, identity theft and falsifying business records, according to the Sheriff’s Office She was arraigned and released pending prosecution in Corinth Village Court.
