EUREKA, Ill. — A Pekin woman was sentenced to probation after pleading guilty to stealing narcotics from a nursing home.
Tracy Long, 32, was a nurse at Maple Lawn in Eureka in September 2015 when alprazolam and hydrocodone went missing. Long claimed she gave the drugs to patients, but surveillance video revealed she had not visited the patients’ rooms, according to the Illinois State Police.
Police said Long later admitted to falsifying reports and stealing the narcotics for her personal use.
Long was sentenced in Woodford County to 24 months of probation, 30 hours of community service, and was ordered to pay for fees associated with the case. She will also undergo drug rehabilitation and not work in a job that gives her access to controlled substances.
