A pharmacy technician at the Carroll Walgreens has been arrested and charged with theft after being caught on video stealing painkillers. The suspect, 41-year-old S. A. Cook of Carroll, is accused of taking 699 pills of Tramadol from Dec. 13, 2017 to Jan. 31 during her shifts at the drug store. Tramadol works similarly to other opioid medications and is classified as a schedule IV controlled substance. Cook was arrested Tuesday and has been charged with third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor. If found guilty of the charge, Cook could face up to two years in prison and fines not to exceed $6,250.
