A Sarasota registered nurse has been arrested for stealing oxycodone from her employer, according to a news release.

M. Graham, 60, used a coworker’s account to removed and allegedly distribute oxycodone three separate times, according to a news release from the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

Further investigation into the misuse showed Graham as the highest dispenser of oxycodone in the entire facility. She provided 36 doses of oxycodone to a single patient when all other nurses combined only dispensed seven doses to the same patient, deputies said.

Graham later admitted to detectives that she dispensed the oxycodone for personal use and was taking the pills to help her get through a shift, according to the release.

On Wednesday, Graham turned herself into the Manatee County Jail. She faces three counts of theft of a controlled substance and two counts of criminal use of personal identification, according to the release.

Graham is no longer employed by the clinic, which chose to enact Marsy’s Law for their privacy.

She is being held without bond and is waiting to be transferred to Sarasota County, the release said.
