BEATRICE – A one-year Gage County Jail sentence has been given to a woman convicted of obtaining a prescription drug by fraud.
25-year-old Alyssa Lange was sentenced in Gage County District Court, Wednesday, by Judge Daniel Bryan Jr. Lange was convicted of obtaining the drug, Oxycodone by fraudulent means, while she was pregnant. The Gage County Attorney’s office recommended a jail term.
Defense attorney Lee Timan says Lange has fought a drug and alcohol addiction while also having financial issues. She was placed on probation in another case, this past September.
Judge Bryan said Lange had gone beyond just affecting herself.

Bryan said he could not issue a term of probation in Lange’s case, saying she had been discharged unsuccessfully from a past probation term. The judge also noted that Lange had other children who are currently in state custody.
