New Holland Police have issued an arrest warrant for a 30-year-old Ephrata accused of stealing oxycodone from patients at an area retirement home.
Natalie M. Sands took the pills from patients and kept them for her own use, New Holland police said in a news release. She is accused of taking the medication from four Garden Spot Village residents between Nov. 13 and Jan. 25, police said.
Sands altered the records for dispensing the medication to patients, police said. Nursing home administration confronted Sands on Jan. 25 and she admitted to taking the pills. She has been terminated from her employment.
Sands is charged with a felony count of possession of a controlled substance and several other related charges, including failure to keep records of distribution of controlled substances, fraud and forgery.
