A Blair woman is accused of stealing hydrocodone pills from an employee at a Blair nursing home.

Nichole Frye, 36, is charged with intentionally violating the narcotic drug law, a Class IV felony; and two counts of possession of a controlled substance, a Class IV felony.

Frye was scheduled for arraignment in Washington County Court on Monday.

According to an arrest affidavit filed by Officer Eric Burgland, an employee of Crowell Home reported six hydrocodone pills were missing from her prescription bottle Feb. 27. The employee had stored the prescription with her personal belongings. When she opened the bottle, she noted that 12 pills remained. When she returned to collect her belongings, the woman noticed six pills were missing.

The employee reported the theft to her supervisor, who told her to contact two people — one of whom was Frye — who were seen entering and exiting the room.

Frye admitted to stealing the pills during a phone conversation with the employee. Frye offered to give her three pills that were a higher dosage. The woman told Frye she was going to talk to her supervisor. The woman also contacted law enforcement.

During the investigation, III-Corps Drug Task Force was contacted for assistance.

Officers asked the woman to call Frye again. Frye again admitted to stealing the pills and agreed to bring the pills to the woman.

Frye was arrested when she arrived at the nursing home. When officers searched her vehicle, they found an old prescription bottle, which contained eight oxycodone pills and eight acetaminophen/hydrocodone pills.
