In a significant development in Franklin County, two healthcare workers are facing charges for allegedly diverting drugs intended for patients. Dr. B. Holsinger, 33, of Shippensburg, and former registered nurse C. Bartoletti, 39, of Greencastle, were charged with multiple felonies related to controlled substances, according to the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office.

The investigation, which began after reports of missing Ketamine on November 29 at WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, pointed to Dr. Holsinger, an emergency medicine physician. Dr. Holsinger reportedly admitted to taking Ketamine in vials home for personal use on several occasions, beginning in late summer or early fall of 2023. He claimed that the first instance was accidental, as he forgot a vial in his scrub pocket.

Carmen Bartoletti, who worked at both WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital and WellSpan Chambersburg Hospital, is accused of failing to properly dispose of leftover medications such as Morphine, Oxycodone, and Lorazepam. She allegedly admitted to occasionally taking the unused drugs home. The Department of State had previously suspended Bartoletti’s nursing license in December 2024 after she missed multiple drug screenings.

Both Holsinger and Bartoletti were placed on unsecured bail of $25,000 each and have preliminary hearings scheduled for April 22. The charges include acquiring a controlled substance by fraud among other misdemeanors. This case underscores the serious implications of drug diversion in healthcare settings.
