CLEBURNE COUNTY, AR (KAIT) –

An Arkansas nurse faces felony charges after investigators say she wrote nearly two dozen fake prescriptions.

On Dec. 20, the 16th Judicial Drug Task Force and the Cleburne County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a local doctor’s office regarding a nurse writing fraudulent prescriptions.

Detectives identified Nikki Calhoun, 35, as the possible suspect and brought her in for questioning, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.

Investigators arrested Calhoun on 23 counts of prescription fraud to obtain a Schedule II controlled substance.
