ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A nurse who stole more than 40,000 worth of pills from her patients pleaded guilty Thursday.
Desiree Ulibarri was a registered nurse who worked for an Albuquerque-area Hospice Care provider.
The company started noticing she would pick up the prescription pills herself at FedEx locations instead of shipping them directly to patients at their homes.
Ulibarri later admitted to taking the pills, and text messages show she was working with another nurse at the company for several months.
Under a plea agreement, she faces about four and a half years in federal prison.
