City police charge that he took pain medication from a resident of a senior living facility where he worked.
Erie police accuse a city man of stealing prescription painkillers from a resident of a senior living facility while he worked there earlier this month.
Michael A. Kinney, 35, is accused of taking 21 hydrocodone pills, an opioid pain medication, from a resident of the Regency at South Shore, 322 Washington Place, on the afternoon of Sept. 8. A facility official reviewed surveillance video and Kinney, an employee, was the only person seen entering the room during the time of the theft, Erie police Detective David Walker wrote in the affidavit of probable cause filed with the criminal complaint on Friday.
Kinney was in the Erie County Prison on $50,000 bond Sunday following his arraignment by Erie 6th Ward District Judge Dominick DiPaolo on charges of burglary, possession of a controlled substance, theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property.
