A Guernsey nurse has been struck off after being caught watering down painkillers and administering the solution to elderly residents.
Alison Le Huray was jailed for last three months last year after she admitted stealing the drug Oramorph, a morphine solution, from the Princess Elizabeth Hospital.
Le Huray was caught on camera pouring the drug into her own empty bottle before diluting the remaining liquid to give to residents at St John’s Residential Home.
A police investigation began after a local pharmacist noticed a bottle had been deliberately watered down.
Guernsey Police placed CCTV cameras around the home in a bid to find the culprit.
Le Huray was arrested in January 2017 after she was caught on camera and jailed for three months in May.
The Guernsey nurse was given a lifetime ban from practicing as a nurse by a tribunal.
The tribunal panel said Le Huray had abused her position.
The panel considered that Mrs Le Huray’s actions were an abuse of trust and included a deliberate attempt to cover up her behaviour in relation to the theft of the Oramorph which could have led to patient harm.

In a statement, Alison Le Huray said she was sorry for her actions.
The Board of Directors at St John’s Residential Home say it is their priority to ensure that residents receive the highest standard of care.
