A Bakersfield nurse who faced multiple felony charges after investigators said she wrote prescriptions for herself by falsifying physicians’ signatures has pleaded no contest to perjury, according to court records.
Jasmine Hill was sentenced to time served and three years’ probation after pleading no contest to the perjury charge, a felony, as well as to misdemeanor charges of forging a legal document and filling an illegal controlled substance prescription.
Hill, a nurse practitioner, was arrested Oct. 6 after an investigation found she wrote a prescription for herself that included controlled substances, then used the signature stamp of a co-worker physician to sign the prescription form, according to the state Department of Consumer Affairs’ Division of Investigation.
She also stood accused of making false entries into her own medical record to make it appear that the physician had authorized the prescription. Other prescriptions were found which appeared to have been falsified by Hill using the signature of a second physician.
