CLINTON, Miss. —
Three people are facing charges in connection with a prescription drug forgery ring in Clinton, police said.

The investigation began Monday with a call to the Clinton Police Department about possible prescription fraud in progress at CVS at 801 Highway 80 E. Officers arrested Ranisha Longstreet and James Love, who were sitting in a parked vehicle near the pharmacy, authorities said.
A Clinton police detective walked into the pharmacy and arrested Longstreet’s husband, Anthony Beverly, authorities said.
Investigators said Longstreet is accused of stealing several blank prescriptions while she was working at a hospital in Rankin County.Beverly is suspected of forging the prescriptions using various names as patient information, police said.
“This particular method of prescription fraud is known to the CPD, and so far, it was determined that the three suspects have had filled over 2,670 dosage units of hydrocodone/acetaminophen,” according to a news release from the city.
CPD has been working with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics because of the volume of controlled substances believed to have been illegally obtained and distributed by the trio.
A search warrant was executed Wednesday at Longstreet’s and Beverly’s home on Whitworth Street in Jackson, which investigators said uncovered evidence of the prescription forgery ring.
Longstreet, Beverly and Love are being held on bonds of $250,000 each.
