A 39-year-old Gassville woman was arrested after she allegedly stole painkillers and money from the patients she cared for, according to a news release from Mountain Home Police Chief Carry Manuel.

Kimberly Rowe faces three felony charges of controlled substances-fraudulent practices and two misdemeanor theft of property charges. She was released from the Baxter County jail after posting a $15,000 bond.

At the time of the alleged thefts, Rowe was working as a certified nursing assistant for two different companies that provide home medical care.

In March, the MHPD took a report from one of the companies that said Rowe was fired after the company received two theft complaints regarding Rowe. The company reported to police that 140 Ritalin pills were missing.

Then, on Sept. 7, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a client of the second company Rowe worked for. That client, a cancer survivor, said approximately 60 to 70 of their hydrocodone pills were taken over the course of an extended period.

The client said they noticed the pills missing after a home visit by Rowe. The client also noticed $15 in cash missing after Rowe’s visit.

The same day the BCSO took the report from the cancer victim, the MHPD took another report where the alleged victim named Rowe as a suspect. In that incident, the victim told police 20 oxycodone pills were missing after a home visit by Rowe.
