DUPLIN COUNTY, NC (WITN) – A detention officer has been arrested, accused of stealing drugs from the jail clinic.
Katrina Boney was charged with larceny by employee.
Duplin County Sheriff Blake Wallace says he notified the State Bureau of Investigation when they discovered last Thursday that medication was missing from the jail’s medical clinic.
The sheriff says they are now looking to see if the woman stole any prescription medication prior to June 9th.
Boney was given a $5,000 secured bond and has since posted bond.
Wallace says Boney, a ten year employee, was fired from her job.
