A Dundee doctor will stand trial accused of killing a woman after allegedly supplying her with drugs.

Katy McAllister, 30, is charged with the culpable homicide of Louise McGowan in May last year.

It is alleged she “recklessly and unlawfully” supplied “controlled and potentially lethal drugs” including tramadol, temazepam and codeine.

The indictment states Ms McGowan, of Dundee, “ingested” the drugs and died a day later.

It is alleged Ms McAllister supplied the drugs at two addresses in Dundee, including a tattoo parlour.

Judge Lord Burns set a trial due for next April in Edinburgh.

Ms McAllister also faces a charge that she stole quantities of the class C drug Midazolam from Ninewells Hospital in Dundee between June and August 2014.

Prosecutors further claim she did “supply or offer to supply” drugs to a number of individuals.

Ms McAllister, also of Dundee, denies all the charges and bail was continued.
