FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. —
An employee of the Washington Regional Medical Center was arrested Thursday, accused of stealing prescription drugs from the hospital.
Police investigated after hospital security reported thefts from three workers. One witness told police she saw Sierra Johnson going through her bag, according to a preliminary police report.
Police saw some of the stolen property in Johnson’s Jeep, giving them probable cause to search the vehicle, the report said. They were able to find the workers’ stolen property.
As police continued to search the Jeep, they found 46 stolen items. These included 17 different types of prescriptions, including Oxycodone/Acetaminophen, Oxycodone Hydrochloride, Lorazepam, Hydromorphone, Morphine and Clonazepam, according to the release.
Police also found a doctor’s blank prescription pad, which the doctor said had been stolen. The Jeep also contained hypodermic needles, alcohol pads and boxes of syringes.
Johnson told police she couldn’t remember why the drugs and other materials were in her Jeep. She said she took the property, but intended to return it.
Johnson was arrested on 5 theft charges, 3 drug charges, one charge of Fraudulent Practices and one charge of Possession of a Forgery Device.
