A 50-year-old Fort Pierce pharmacist is accused of stealing opioids from the pharmacy where he works.
P. Barski, of Fort Pierce, was arrested on April 24 on two felony charges of grand theft of a controlled substance and trafficking a controlled substance.
St. Lucie County Sheriff’s office deputies said they received an anonymous tip about videos that allegedly showed Barski stealing medication from Jackson Drugs pharmacy, 2301 Okeechobee Road, where he works.
The pharmacy’s video showed Barski removing 60 Oxymorphone pills from a sealed bottle on April 21 and putting it in a shopping bag and leaving the pharmacy, deputies said.
Deputies said on April 22 they went to the pharmacy and found the empty bottle of medication Barski was seen on video throwing out in the pharmacy’s garbage.
Barski was arrested and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail. His bond is $78,750.
