A jail guard in Madison County is facing multiple charges after surveillance video caught her taking medications from inmates.
An investigation into the behavior of 27-year-old Christina Ball started on September 18. The director of the facility informed ininvestigators that she was suspicious of Ball taking medication from inmates who were participating in the work release program and had surveillance video to prove it.
In the video, an inmate is seen receiving his prescribed medication of Suboxone. After the inmate exits, Ball is seen on camera opening the inmate’s medication packet and placing her hand inside before placing it back inside the filing camera.
Ball was later taken to the Madison County Sheriff’s Department for questioning where she confessed to the incident and admitted to giving the Suboxone to a friend.
It was later discovered that Ball can be seen taking different medications from inmates on multiple occasions from August 31 to September 14.
Ball has been fired and faces five counts of theft and one count of official misconduct.
