A Muncie woman who told authorities she was the nursing director for a local assisted living facility was arrested after prescription medications for multiple people were found in her purse.
M. Foster, 28, was preliminarily charged with possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a legend drug.
City police said a Ford Explorer driven by Foster was pulled over late Sunday after it ran a red light at Wysor and Madison streets.
After a police K-9 indicated there were controlled substances in the vehicle, officers found, in what was identified as Foster’s purse:
• Two pre-made “pill packs” containing a trio of controlled substances, prescribed to another person.
• A blister pack of pills, prescribed to still another person, “with most still in the pack and some missing.”
• Two clear plastic packs of two controlled substances.
• A pill bottle that had contained medication prescribed to Foster, but now held “an assortment of pills that were not listed on the label.”
• A “leafy substance” believed to be marijuana.
The medications seized included Clonazepam and Oxybutynin.
“Megan said she had worked 16 hours, left and then was in the process of driving back,” an officer wrote.
He responded that he doubted “storing patients’ meds in her purse was part of procedures for her nursing home.”
Foster was later released from the Delaware County jail after posting a $10,000 bond.
According to court records, the Muncie woman faces driving-while-suspended charges in three pending Delaware Circuit Court 5 cases.
A state database confirmed Foster has held a nursing license since 2012.
