SUNSET BEACH, NC (WWAY) – Sunset Beach police returned to North Carolina early this morning with a man wanted for prescription fraud.

Police say in late October, they got a call that Keith Sessoms was trying to pass off fake prescriptions at the CVS in Sunset Beach.

A detective was nearby and went to the CVS. Police say Sessoms got in his car and started to back away. The detective broke the window to try and get Sessoms to stop, but Sessoms drove off.

Police say they chased Sessoms down Highway 17, but once they got to the South Carolina line they called it off because Sessoms was driving erratically and they wanted to keep other drivers safe.

Police say they got a tip Sessoms was in New York. They alerted the US Marshals Service, who caught him in Manhattan.

Sunset Beach police returned to North Carolina around 1:00 a.m.

Sessoms is in jail under $1 million bond.
