Police arrested a 48-year-old woman on August 14 after she allegedly stole controlled substances from a nursing and rehabilitation center.

An administrator with Royal Middletown Nursing & Rehabilitation Center reported a larceny to police on July 15, according to Middletown Detective Adam Tobias’s official narrative. The administrator told the detective that between 11 p.m. on July 8 and 7 a.m. on July 9, 16 Clonazepam pills went missing. The only person with access to the medication in that time frame was T. Bolduc— who’s listed as a Pawtucket resident by police but a Sandwich, Massachusetts resident in court records— a recently-hired registered nurse, according to Tobias’s report.

At the beginning and end of every shift, employees conduct medication counts, Tobias’s report says. An employee going off-duty about 11 p.m. July 8 indicated the quantity of Clonazepam was correct. When Bolduc started her shift July 8 about 11 p.m. she failed to sign off on the medication count, according to the detective’s report; she again failed to sign off on the medication quantity when she went off-duty on July 9, which is a standard procedure for employees, according to the police reports.

A medication count by an employee on July 9 about 7 a.m. indicated 16 Clonazepam pills were missing, and he notified his supervisor. Bolduc was terminated July 11, according to reports. Oxycodone was allegedly also found in Bolduc’s desk; it apparently was a recently-admitted patient’s medication, according to the police report.

Middletown police secured an arrest warrant for Bolduc on July 17 for two felony charges of larceny of controlled substances. On August 14, Bolduc was located in Pawtucket and transported to the Middletown Police Department. She was arraigned in District Court that day and did not enter pleas, which is typical for felony charges first heard in District Court. Bond was set at $5,000 with surety and it was posted, according to online court records.

A screening date is scheduled for October 17.
