The Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics has arrested a pharmacy technician in Southaven who’s accused of stealing 1,000 dosage units of hydrocodone.

V. Freeman, 23, is accused of embezzling the opiate, which is used to treat severe, long-term pain, from the pharmacy where she worked.

Freeman’s arrest stemmed from a two-day investigation by MBN, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration and the Mississippi Board of Pharmacy. She was booked into the DeSoto County Detention Center on $50,000 bond.
