MINOT, N.D. – A registered nurse accused of stealing pharmaceuticals from an assisted living home in Stanley has pleaded not guilty.

Fifty-one-year-old Karen Evans faces 10 counts of acquiring a controlled substance by misrepresentation.

Prosecutors have accused Evans of stealing 13 Percocet tablets from the Bethel Home between May and August of 2016.

They say she logged out the pills but did not give them to residents.

A judge found probable cause to continue with the charges during a preliminary hearing Thursday, according to the Mountrail County clerk of court’s office.

Evans will be back in court for her pretrial conference April 27.

She faces up to five years in prison on each charge if convicted.
