LIBERTYVILLE, IL — An Advocate Condell Medical Center nurse is being accused of stealing about $500 worth of drugs from his place of work, according to a police report.

Benjamin Sandholm, 33, of the 400 block of Larchmont Lane, Vernon Hills, was charged Dec. 11, the report said, with theft and unlawful acquisition of controlled substances.

The Drug Enforcement Administration and the Lake County Metropolitan Enforcement Group helped Libertyville police in determining that Sandholm took the drugs, the release said, without permission.

They say he took the drugs “throughout the course of his employment as a registered nurse.”

Sandholm was arrested at his home and taken to the Lake County jail.
