A pharmacy employee in Oshawa has been charged after $40,000 worth of prescription drugs, said to be worth far more on the street, went missing over a five-month period.
The 35-year-old woman was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of theft over $5,000 and ten counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking.
Durham Regional Police say that the street value of the drugs, taken from Lovell Drugs on Grandview Street, is about $1.1 million.
At the time of the woman’s arrest, she was found with OxyContin and Dilaudid in her possession with a street value of $13,000.
Durham police are asking for anyone with information to contact Det. Const. Nicholas Baldini at 1-888-579-1520, extension 2204.
