ODESSA, Texas (Local 2/Fox 24) – One nurse is facing charges after police say he took medication for his own personal use.
The investigation began on Wednesday when officers were called to Madison medical Resort about the missing medication.
Employees with the resort told officers that the medication count did not add up and that a charge nurse had admitted to take a dose of hydrocodone earlier that day, according to a release from the department.
The employee also told officers that a patient was scheduled to receive the dose, but they had already been transported out of the facility when the dose was set to be administered, according to the release.
Officers later spoke to the charge nurse, Randall Gee, who admitted to taking the dose and signing off on the amount that was supposed to be given to the patent.
Gee was later arrested and charged with diversion of a controlled substance, a state-jail felony.
