An Upstate nurse faces charges after investigators say she stole drugs from the Inman clinic where she worked and falsified medical records, according to arrest warrants.

L. A. Wilkins was arrested Friday and charged with theft of a controlled substance, first offense, and a drug distribution violation.

According to the warrants, between March 1 and May 15, a nurse at Lake Emory Post Acute Care in Inman falsely claimed in medical records that she administer Hydrocodone, a schedule II controlled substance, to a patient. The patient told investigators with the state Department of Health and Environmental Control he did not request or receive the drugs.

The warrants state the nurse stole the hydrocodone, an opiate painkiller.
