Two Detroit residents are now jailed after, investigators say, they tried to fill a fake prescription for narcotics at a local drug store.
Oakland County Sheriff’s deputies were sent at 8:46 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 4, to the CVS Pharmacy in the 3400 block of Baldwin Road to investigate a report of prescription fraud.
Arriving officers were told by the pharmacist that two suspects — a 47-year-old woman and a 49-year-old man, both from Detroit — were at the pharmacy drive-thru window in a black 2017 Dodge Ram waiting for a refill on a fraudulent prescription of Oxycodone.
Deputies drove to the drive-thru and blocked the pickup in so they couldn’t leave the area.
The suspects later confirmed the prescriptions were fake, and were arrested, then taken to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Orion Township substation.
Later, the suspects’ pickup was searched and impounded. Deputies found suspected marijuana, drug paraphernalia and cash inside.
Later, the man and woman were taken to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office to await potential criminal charges.
