A pharmacy technician at UPMC Presbyterian is accused of stealing thousands of dollars of powerful painkillers.
According to UPMC police headquarters, the tech’s fingerprints are what got her caught.
Nicole Liggett is charged with stealing tens of thousands of dollars of prescription drugs from several pharmacies within the UPMC hospital system.
UPMC police are calling it drug diversion. They allege Liggett was caught by security cameras stealing these Schedule 2 controlled drugs: Hydromorphone (dilaudid), Remifentanil and Fentanil.
They say she took them from an Accudose machine, a fingerprint medicine dispenser.
UPMC police said Liggett stole the drugs from Oct. 9 thru Nov. 4 and the drugs taken were valued at more than $52,000.
Channel 11 went to Liggett’s house Thursday, but no one answered the door.
Officials at UPMC told channel 11 Liggett has been suspended pending a police investigation.
