A woman who worked at a long-term care facility for the elderly in Salem, N.H., was charged Tuesday with two counts of posession of fentanyl, the New Hampshire Attorney General’s office said.
Stephanie McMahon, 39 of Salem, allegedly stole a total of three fentanyl patches on two separate occasions from a resident’s medication storage box, prosecutors said in a press release.
The fentanyl patches were prescribed to the resident. McMahon was not authorized to handle or administer medication, the release stated.
McMahon could not be reached for comment Tuesday night.
If convicted, she faces up to seven years in prison on each count and/or a $25,000 fine, according to the release.
