An Ashland woman has been indicted for allegedly stealing an opiate medication from a client and attempting to sell the drug.

Kelly J. Conley, 46, was indicted on three felony counts connected to the alleged theft, possession and trafficking of hydrocodone while working at the Good Shepherd Villa. She has been formally charged with theft of drugs, a fourth-degree felony; aggravated possession of drugs, a fifth-degree felony; and aggravated trafficking in drugs, a fourth-degree felony.

The alleged conduct occurred on Nov. 21, 2016, and Nov. 22, 2016, according to the information in the indictment.

Conley was arrested and booked into the Ashland County Jail on June 15. The indictment in the case was filed June 8, after the recent meeting of the Ashland County Grand Jury.

Conley appeared via Skype for a bond setting on Thursday.

Assistant county prosecutor Victor Perez requested that Magistrate Paul T. Lange set her bond at $50,000.

Lange ultimately set her bond at $5,000 with the option of paying $500 to get out of the Ashland County Jail. She was ordered to not use or possess drugs or alcohol during the proceedings.

Arraignment on the indictment was scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 21, at the Ashland County Common Pleas Court. Andrew Wick was appointed as her attorney for the case.
