Drug Diversion in news from Google News

A woman from Caseyville has been sentenced for stealing drugs from a nursing home for her own use.  38-year-old Trisha Cleveland pleaded guilty to unlawful possession of a controlled substance after the Illinois State Police says she took hydrocodone from a nursing home in Belleville where she worked as a nurse.

Authorities say Cleveland made false reports that patients had requested the medication, although they did not.  She then took the drug from the Four Fountains Convalescent Center for personal use.  Cleveland pleaded guilty earlier this month and was sentenced to two years of felony probation and 30 hours of community service.   The Illinois State Police Medicaid Fraud Control Bureau investigated the case.
