MANASSAS, Va. (ABC7) — A neurologist in practice in Manassas and Reston has been arrested and charged with prescription fraud.
Police say Ishtiaq Ahmad, M.D., prescribed pain medications without having performed the proper medical exams.
Following an investigation that began in November 2015, members of the Prince William-Manassas-Manassas Park Narcotics Task Force executed multiple search warrants at Sunnyview Neurology at 8609 Sudley Rd. in Manassas and at a residence in Herndon.
The Virginia Attorney General’s Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation assisted the task force, according to a statement from the Manassas City Police Department.
